Research Interests

Studies of pharmacological actions of putative metal ions and bioactive natural products on the occurrence or at symptomatic stages of diseases for discovery of targeted preventive/therapeutic agents, including: (1) Macromolecular "lymphatic-like" drainage pathways and cell signal transduction in metabolic diseases (neurodegenerative diseases, tumors, diabetes, etc.); (2) Antioxidant response mechanism and screening of mitochondrial protective agents; (3) Discovery and development of chemoprophylaxis from food and traditional Chinese medicine for chronic diseases prevention/therapy.
