On the morning of March 16, 2018, in the conference room of the Institute for Translational Medicine, the Party Branch held an organizational life meeting and a democratic appraisal Party member meeting. Liu Chengyu, Deputy Director of the Medical College of Qingdao University, guided the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wang Jianxun, Secretary of the Party Branch, and all Party members attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Secretary Wang Jianxun reported the work of the Party Branch in 2017 to all Party members, determined the existing problems of the branch and put forward rectification measures. All Party members spoke in turn. They analyzed their own shortcomings, traced the source, put forward rectification measures, and enthusiastically conducted criticism and self-criticism. All Party members stated that they should strengthen the study of political theory, strengthen political ideals and beliefs, improve subjective learning initiatives, strengthen previous learning exchanges of colleagues, and constantly improve their scientific research and teaching abilities.
Director Liu Chengyu made a concluding speech at the meeting. He pointed out that, as a college teachers and qualified Communist Party members, we should improve four aspects of ourselves: 1) Strengthen learning and improve the cultivation of Party spirit. Because the Party Branch at the Institute for Translational Medicine is a young team, it should constantly learn from the older generation of Party members and imitate their conduct; 2) Establish morality, cultivate people, and strive for teaching excellence. Teaching is the top priority of a teacher’s work. We should teach with a rigorous and professional attitude; 3) Adhere to innovation and push scientific research to a new height. In this young team of Party members, innovation is the soul of scientific research. Only with innovation can we seize new opportunities and gain the advantage; 4) Strengthen team cooperation and create harmonious scientific research and teaching institutions. Overall, the Institute for Translational Medicine must emphasize teamwork in order to become bigger and stronger.
The atmosphere of this Party meeting was warm and friendly, and all Party members had made great achievements. Everyone expressed their gratitude to the superior Party organization for its affirmation of the work of the Institute for Translational Medicine and hoped that the superior leaders would give more guidance to the work of the Institute in the future. Everyone expressed that they would actively respond to the call of the working committee of the Ministry of Medicine, work diligently, create more fruitful scientific research achievements, and move toward the achievement of greater scientific research goals.
