The Institute of Translational Medicine at Qingdao University is located in the beautiful coastal City of Qingdao. Directly under Qingdao University, this research Institute was established in 2014. The Institute emphasizes “transformation” and “precision” in important research on human life from ontogeny to tissue aging and from cell renewal to cell death. Our research accomplishments lead the fields of cardiovascular, stem cells, noncoding nucleic acids, and tumor cell biology. With unique advantages in genomics, nucleic acid modification, tumor mutation and transformation, we are currently working hard in the area of precision medicine. The Institute conducts research on the international frontier in the molecular mechanism of cell fate determination and prevention and treatment strategies for cardiovascular diseases and tumors. The Institute comprises seven research centers: the Developmental Cardiology Center, Regenerative Medicine Center, Tumor Molecular Biology Center, Vascular Biology Center, Translational Medicine Research Institute, Precision Medicine Center, Molecular Genetics Center. Both the Model Animal Center and the Biological Information and Biotechnology Center have technology supporting platforms. The Institute currently has more than 100 advanced instruments and equipment, and it has built domestically advanced biomedical research technology platforms, including a stem cell and cell biology research platform, a bioimaging center, a high-throughput sequencing and nucleic acid drug development platform, and an SPF animal room and animal experiment platform. Since its establishment, the Institute has published more than 200 high-level papers in top journals, such as Molecular Cell, Nature Communication, Circuit Research, European Heart Journal, Circulation, and Science Advances with Qingdao University as the primary affiliation. The Institute provides an excellent environment for the training and growth of talented scientists. Two researchers in the Institute have received the National Science Funds for Excellent Young Scholars, and one has been selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the Young and Middle-aged Innovation Leader. 1. Professional scope
Cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, physiology, biomedical engineering, biomedical materials, pharmacy, bioinformatics and other related fields of life sciences and basic medicine
2. Priority recruitment requirements
Research requirements
*Nucleic acid biology: noncoding nucleic acid analysis and prediction, processing, maturation, and functional mechanism research.
*Research on the molecular mechanism of cell fate determination: cell cycle, cell programming and reprogramming, cell differentiation and transdifferentiation, cytoskeleton and cell polarity, etc.
*Research on the structure and function of organelles: cell metabolism (mitochondria and glucose and lipid metabolism), communication and interaction of organelles, subcellular structure, and function research.
*Research on the structure and functional modification of biological macromolecules: chromosome structure remodeling, epigenetic modification, etc.
– Research on diseases: cardiovascular diseases, tumor, and aging.
– Bioinformatics, big data, computer science and intelligent medicine.
– Medical engineering, medical science, and other cutting-edge interdisciplinary directions, new technologies, and new methods.
3. Degree requirements
A doctoral degree or is about to receive a doctorate degree within the next year.
Selection criteria
1). Excellent young PhDs.
Outstanding young doctors who have published high-level papers (a single article with an IF greater than 8 or multiple papers with a cumulative IF greater than 20) as the first author are welcome to apply for positions in our Institute. People with papers published in CNS journals, CNS sub-journals, and journals with IFs greater than 10 are particularly welcome.
2). National outstanding talented scientists such as the receivers of the National Outstanding Youth Fund and the National Excellent Youth Fund and the young Yangtze River Scholars, are particularly welcome.
4. Director of the Scientific Research Center
1). A corresponding professional background, high academic achievement, and outstanding academic achievement in the subject field.
2). Strong organizational and coordination skills, innovation awareness, acceptance of overall concept of teamwork spirit, and conduct according to professional ethics.
3). Those who meet the qualifications for Distinguished Professor of Qingdao University are preferred.
5. General principles of remuneration
1). We implement an annual salary system for outstanding young PhDs. Candidates are classified in different levels according to their achievements, with an annual salary of 300 k, 400 k, 500 k, >500 k RMB; each offer is discussed with the specific person. All successful outstanding young doctors can purchase housing for employees at Jiaozhou Campus at a discounted price that is lower than the market price.
2). Particularly outstanding young talented scientists are provided with competitive scientific research start-up funding support, workspace support, and team building support, as well as attractive research bonuses.
3). The annual salary system is applicable to high-level talented scientists. Based on academic achievements and work goals, the school adopts a one-person-one-discussion approach to providing competitive working conditions and living benefits.
