Introduction to the Institute of Translational Medicine

The Institute of Translational Medicine at Qingdao University was established in April 2014. It is led by Professor Li Peifeng, an expert in the field of cardiovascular research in China. The Qingdao Municipal Government and Qingdao University have provided strong financial support in the preliminary construction of the laboratory. The research Institute has built a 1,100-square-meter experimental base, including a stem cell and cell biology research platform, a bioimaging center, a high-throughput sequencing and nucleic acid drug development platform, a molecular biology test platform, and a model animal experimental center.

The research Institute focuses on factors related to major diseases. Its main research directions are to reveal their signaling pathways and mechanisms, clarify important life activities from individual development to tissue aging and from cell regeneration to cell death, investigate relationships between molecular regulatory components and the occurrence and development of diseases, and study the key processes of life activities and the relationship between diseases. In the joint exploration of potential pathogenic factors and effective treatments, the laboratory research direction focuses on two themes and one central topic: reawakening and tissue regeneration and repair of differentiated cells, stem cell and cell cycle remodeling, and research on noncoding nucleic acid regulation and its potential mechanism, respectively. As always, the central focus of the laboratory is on noncoding nucleic acid. The above two themes include linking cell behavior and fate decisions, promoting disease diagnosis, developing new drugs, promoting the development of regenerative medicine and translational medicine, and succeeding in contributing breakthrough results to the literature in this field.

The specific recruitment were as follows:

I. Recruitment targets and conditions

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher, maximum age 30 years old.

2. A sense of responsibility and teamwork spirit, work hard without complaining, and complete assigned work seriously and meticulously.

3. Long-term employment is preferred.

4. Those who engage in model animal experiments are preferred.

II. Recruitment procedures

1. Registration: Starting from now on, the deadline is September 1. Applicants must fill in the Registration Form for Experimenters of the Institute of Translational Medicine of Qingdao University in 2016 and send scanned copies of academic degree certificates, various award certificates, and other certificates in the form of attachments by email. Please indicate “Name + Application for Experimenter” in the subject bar of the email.

2. Qualification examination: The Personnel Section of the research Institute conducts a preliminary review of the applicant’s materials.

3. Interview: The interview consists of two parts: the applicant’s statement and experts’ questions. The research Institute uniformly organizes interviews and determines the proposed employment list.

4. Approval and employment: Information about the personnel to be hired shall be submitted to the school for examination and approval after passing a physical examination, and the personnel to be approved shall go through the admission procedures within the specified time.

III. Treatment and support conditions

1. Experimenters implement a contract system with a contract period of three years. The probation period is six months. After the probation period expires, the research Institute will organize the assessment, and those who pass the examination will be transferred to the contract system.

2. The salary is about 3,000 yuan; five social insurances and one housing fund are included.
